Street Children in Kenya - Grandsons of Abraham

The idea that should have every child, even while living on the street is a sad one. This video shows the experience of two i-to-i volunteers who work on the grandson of Abraham center in Mombasa, Kenya. The house is a center for children living in fact, essentially on the street. The goal of the center is to show these kids some love and guidance that will hopefully lead to their lives from the streets and in schools or vocational jobs. None of the children are forcedin the program and there are quite choice. For many children who come from abusive homes, it is easy to make a decision. To support the volunteers with the lessons, just as with cooking, games, and pretty much every part of the center. They also operate sometimes as house parents and keep an eye on the children in her apartment. The experience is not all work and no play for the volunteers as they tell how they sometimes spend their weekends in the countryside on the beach in the southAfrican coast and enjoy the stunning scenery of the country. www.maryknollafrica.org www.i-to-i.com Presented by: streetkidnews.blogsome.com
